Expressive Arts Mentoring and Counseling

As an Expressive Arts Mentor and Counselor, I honor the inherent connections between and among body/mind/spirit, in the relational and the creative realms of our lives. A weaving of artful making, ritual and contemplative practice contributes to the ever-deepening root system of my inquiry, that arises in playful, emotive, energetic and silent expression. Our stories are waiting to be told in mytho-poetic and transformative language like the phoenix arising from the fire. Each one’s unique genius longs for form and for witnessing. In using this term “genius,” I refer to its Latin root, as “attendant spirit present from one's birth, one’s innate ability or inclination.” Martha Graham beautifully describes this sacred duty: “There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost."
