Interfaith Ministry, Chaplaincy and Officiating
As a Community Interfaith Minister and Chaplain, I have been called to offer offer a wide range of ministerial support. Providing spiritual care to individuals and families during significant life thresholds, creating personalized and meaningful memorials, offering creative tools for responding to death and grief, premarital and commitment preparation, and officiating at marriages and other ceremonies are all aspects my of ministry. My decision to expand my practice to include ministry became clear upon encountering many spiritually disenfranchised people who lack community support available to those who are members of a religious community or “sangha.” This much needed quality of belonging sparked my desire to deepen my ongoing study of religions and cultures, ceremonies, rituals, liturgies and diverse spiritual paths. I am charged with providing non-judgmental, holistic, spiritual support to people from any faith tradition, including those who follow none. Whether guiding a ceremony or a gathering of seekers, I maintain a sense of wonder and curiosity. Abraham Joshua Heschel suggests, “Our goal should be to live in radical amazement, get up in the morning and look at the world in a way that takes nothing for granted. Everything is phenomenal; everything is incredible. Never treat life casually. To be spiritual is to be amazed.”
